When you break a bone, health care providers refer to it as a bone fracture. This break permanently changes the shape of your bone. These breaks can occur very easily along the length or all along a bone. A closed fracture is when the damage does not penetrate through the skin into the bone, and instead, it is just outside the bone in two pieces.

Types of Broken Bones and Diagnostic
broke of bones are of two types-open and closed. In a closed broken, there is complete destruction of the bone-in other words, the bone marrow fills up with blood and the cells which line the bone are also damaged and blood clots beyond repair.
In case of an open fracture, the broken bone remains exposed, but the skin closes over it. This kind of fracture does not heal by itself; it is broken into smaller parts that spread over the surface of the bone or external fixation.
However, if this is not kept open enough, the part which was completely smashed will begin to rub against the other bones of the bone next to it, thereby causing a compound fracture, which makes them part of the bone which was damaged completely lose its attachment to the supporting bones of the skull.
So, the first thing that must be done in such a case is for the doctor to take the blood of the patient in order to test for clotting, and then proceed with the real treatment. In case of a closed broken, the broken bone remains exposed and the surrounding tissues remain intact but there is no blood present in the tissue.
The doctor needs to work a little harder to boost up the blood circulation in that area of the body. In such a situation, the use of an ice pack can help in constricting the blood vessels. The leg of the patient can be wrapped in a dressing such as a cloth baggy.
The blood flow to that leg can be increased by placing a baggy on the broken limb overnight. This should be done at least twice a day until the fracture site is healed enough.
